I feel it is a privilege to work with my clients in their journey towards healing, self-discovery, and becoming who they want to be. I specialize in trauma counselling and my passion is to enter into this possibly confusing and overwhelming space with my clients and to provide them with a safe environment where they can be heard and where they can gain valuable insights about who they are and learn the necessary tools to help them experience healing.
I work with clients of all ages, ranging from 3-years-old to over 80-years-old. In order to respond to the unique needs of each of my clients, I have pursued various specialized training, including, but not limited to, Observed & Experiential Integration (OEI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), expressive therapies (play and art), and Emotion Focused Therapy. I also provide couples counselling utilizing the Gottman Method.
My integrative approach to counselling is grounded in attachment and emotion-focused frameworks. This means I help my clients to address early childhood influences in order to understand how they relate to themselves, to others, and to the world. I also empower my clients by teaching them CBT skill building techniques to help them deal with immediate behavioral life challenges. Finally, I support my clients in their experiences of trauma processing to heal from past hurts.
I speak English and Mandarin Chinese and provide counselling services in both languages. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
